Why I choose to study Japanese

I grew up with a lot of Japanese Manga and Anime. I also love Japanese TV dramas. But sometimes translated captions are not available. I want to be able to read the original versions of those so I can catch up whatever I like.

This year I spent my summer in Hokkaido University to study Marine Biodiversity. I made fiends with some natives there. Studying Japanese will help us communicate better.

Also, I have research interests in marine biology. And Japan has research institutes that enjoy a reputation in marine science. So knowing Japanese may provide me with a greater possibility of doing research there in the future.

  1. You seem to have a really cool combination of reasons for learning Japanese! I definitely agree about translation, sometimes even when they are available you lose the original meaning.

    1. そうですか!いいですね!

      わたしはいろいろなアニメがすきですが、ちょっとふるいアニメをみます。そして、このごろ(recently)しょうねんアニメをあまりみませんでしだ。

      でも、しょうねんアニメですね。もうFairy Tailをみましだか。黒子のバスケをみましだか。家庭教師ヒットマンREBORN!をみましだか。僕のヒーローアカデミアをみましだか。Kelcieさんはどうなしょうねんアニメがだいすきですか。いまなにをみますか。
